City of Exeter Regatta 18 August 2012 Cancelled
We conducted inspections on the physical condition of the regatta course on Friday 17 August.  In addition we looked at information from Environment Agency and updated weather predictions for how the river was likely to behave on the 18 August.
The river continued to rise all day on the 17th with debris being brought down the course. Heavy rainfalls were predicted overnight and later on the morning of 18th August for the Exeter area and Exe valley.

The safety of all competitors and officials is paramount. The Regatta Committee felt they could not guarantee safety and had no option but to cancel the Regatta for the second time this year. Inspection of the course on 18 August has indeed confirmed that this was the right decision.
City of Exeter Regatta Committee would like to thank all clubs for their support and hope to see you all next year.
